Making and Using Cue Cards

A cue card will help you to express yourself as clearly and succinctly as possible.

Your task

Choose two slides that you are soon to present. Think about the 3 main points you want to say when presenting each slide.

Make one cue card per slide. Write your

• Opening phrase

• 3 keywords - one per the main point

• Closing phrase (let it be a variation of your opening phrase)

Start by putting the sentence you are leading up to at the bottom of the card. This is the essence of the message, preferably formulated as a one-liner. If you go off on a tangent, this tells you where you have to get back to.
